OUR PURPOSE
Founded in 2006, our preschool has been serving the community of Lexington, Virginia under the direction of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Diocese of Richmond.
Our mission is to inspire a love of learning, compassion for all, and care of creation, which stems from the love of the Lord.
CURRICULUM
St. Patrick Preschool is in compliance with the Virginia State Department of Education requirements for religiously exempt child day centers.
Our day is structured routines of Circle-Time, large and small group instruction in language skills, math, science, music, and art. Unstructured discovery and creative play are offered in self-directed learning centers. Weather permitting, we spend time outside each day, with short walks and play. Each month, additional opportunities will be scheduled for community-based field trips and seasonal activities.
HOURS
Preschool Hours: 8:20 - 11:40 a.m. to best accommodate parents and our weekday Mass schedule.
St. Patrick Preschool offers three different program schedules. Children may attend three, four, or five days a week. Days must remain consistent throughout the school year.
The preschool is in session from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day, and follows the school calendar for the area schools for holidays, vacations, snow days, and other closures. Weather-related closures will be announced via text messages and eamil.
STUDENTS
Children should be two and one half by October 1 and be fully potty trained/independent in their toileting needs to maintain safety and hygiene.
